… and oh boy did I answer. The past three months have been filled with lots of weekend getaways, time with new friends and old, and so many pink colored drinks (rose, and the newly found, affectionately loved, watermelon juice).
I hope this summer has been quite something for you too. Maybe you’ve gone to dinner with salt water still dried in your hair. Or finally let yourself relax, and spend a whole afternoon on the back porch. Whatever you did, I hope it was something special, and made you feel like you could finally, just breath.
One evening on a recent beach vacation we found ourselves on a bay inlet for dinner and a sunset. The sunset was really the main event. It only felt appropriate to take my shoes off, and wear my most quintessential summer things.

Now on to live the last few weeks of summer, and bottle up that feeling.

A few weekends ago I went up to Boston to visit one of my best girlfriends who moved away from the tri-state area. (le sigh) The only positive thing about friends across the country is the potential for road trips/weekend trips/new cities to traipse around. Clearly, I veer on the side of optimism.
Besides lots of best friend giggling, deliciously indulgent meals, and walking around the city, these are some of the most appreciated things I packed for the weekend:
1. A daytime dress that doesn’t wrinkle/can easily transition into a beach cover-up
2. A sun-smart hat that also is adorable (read through my waxing adoration here)
3. Flat sandals that will go with everything
4. Tee shirt and loose pant combo that will forgive you for all the pasta you ate the previous night …
5. A carry-all bag that you can store a clutch in for your nighttime rendezvous
It seems like every weekend I’m traveling, but still perfecting the art of streamlined packing. Have any tips or methods you’d like to share? Comment away below!
Keep your eye out for more #SIStakesatrip content in the weeks ahead. XO

I can’t believe it’s already mid-September … something far more believable is me still finding ways to wear shorts when appropriate.
As I’ve mentioned to some friends, I’ll start celebrating Fall when my calendar says September 20th. Until then, I’m still enjoying my past seasons fare. What can I say? There’s something to savoring each present moment (even if it’s a fashion one).

I’m back from vacation where I spend my days sunning, boating, and relaxing with family. It’s such a necessity to get away and just “be” for a while to recharge. When on vacation, and attempting to pack light, I always lean towards a more preppy, classic aesthetic. A great item that will get you far, is of course, a white tee shirt. Paired with simple jeans, and bright sweater and belt, you can stay interesting even when you don’t want to “try too hard.”
Soak up the rest of the summer – I can’t believe August is almost upon us!

Excuse my absence – I’ve been out living my summer life, going to concerts, down South for a quick vacation and just generally being busy and refreshed. Above is a realistic compilation of all things I’ve been into recently. It’s so easy to keep things simple with a clean white dress, white sneakers and some denim.
It’s pretty brainless, but I think it works (especially on those days where you have like 20 minutes to get dressed before your daily adventures begin).
Style Tip: I’m not a fan of wedge sneakers, but I can really get behind a pair of Keds, Converse, or Supergas with a summery dress. Give your sandals a rest and kick on your trainers for a playful look.
Hope everyone has a great week!
