Fashion week always gives us lovers of the game something to look forward to. J.Crew, as usual didn’t disappoint at the Fall 2015 showing.

Bring me some of the wrap around tassel shoes, over sized thick knits, and that fringed skirt!

Lord have mercy. Where can I place my order?

Oh, the blissful weekend. How we think, and dream about you all Monday-Friday. For me this translates into thinking of the ideal weekend outfit. Plotting, scheming, and dreaming.  In summer, I literally could wear embroidered tunics every day and be the happiest of girls. There is something so free, and cheerful about them– the essence I want to embody and exude. Throw on some classic shorts and a leather sandal and bag, and there’s my vibe.

I’ve never been one to layer necklaces but when shopping I instantly thought of these two pieces together, have to love places like F21 where the accessories aisle is so expansive that you have the capacity to always bulk up your jewelry collection.

So, what are you all up to (and wearing) this weekend?

Recently, I’ve been digging a monochromatic look. I also simultaneously realized the plethora of navy shirts in my closet. Apparently I have a good thing going? Not opposed to it, especially since I’m one to preach buying what you love and feel most yourself in.

On another note, I’m trying to savor these few transitional weeks we have (cough, spring is finally here, cough) with as much layering as possible. Time for vests, belts, and the final question, “how do things lay,” rather than our forthcoming “can I get away with wearing this to work, maintain a normal body temperature, and appear office aprops?”

What spring look do you all find yourselves gravitating towards? We only have a few more weeks to savor it friends; I’d love to hear your inclinations!

Hi All! I’m excited to share these photos from a lovely afternoon spent with friends over brunch near the Delaware River. This little skirt from J.Crew works pretty hard don’t you think? It brings just the right amount of spark to an otherwise pretty typical outfit for me.

Thanks to Caitlin for taking these pictures of me – she has a great blog, The Semi-Frugal Life, that you all should definitely check out. Her creative cooking solutions and gorgeous photos will inspire for sure.

This may be my third article of leopard print from J.Crew … but who’s counting? When you find something that functions as a basic, but isn’t boring – you work it into your wardrobe! Maybe you’re more of a floral gal, or have a plethora of stripes, whatever it is, stick with what you’re naturally inclined to and make it part of your signature.

I am always one to savor dressing up for holidays; it must be my festive nature. Strategically speaking, you could go the route of wearing as much red, white and blue as possible, but that could be a little too much, don’t you think? Stick with solid colored pieces, some sparkling jewels and a few choice accessories and spend the rest of your day reveling as you should.

Here’s to a 4th of July where you truly express who you are, and celebrate how amazing our country is.

I think my body has yet to adjust to these warmer temperatures, but I’m trying to catch up with some wardrobe modifications. I might have mentioned before how into printed pants I am for this S/S, and these high waisted drawstring pants with racing strips really satisfied my need to be a little bit hippie and stay cool when I could be melting outside. Also really happy to own these new sandals, have really been craving some lace-ups in whatever form I can get.

Style Tip: If you’re new to the printed pant trend, start with something simple, or in a more traditional color, to ease your way into full fledged obsession.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Meet my attempt to look both equally pulled together, relaxed, and colorful. As forementioned, I love scarves, and can save a load of time in the morning by using one to tie my hair back. So timeless, and perfect for the upcoming summer days we want the hair out of our faces.

I should also mention that I love these high waisted jeans. It took me a while to get on board with them, but I love the ability to tuck in a variety of shirts, and finish it off with a belt. They’re kinda the equivalent of the ever useful, pencil or a-line skirt, don’t you think?

For those of you who know me personally, “tomboy” would be the last word used to describe me, or my style aesthetic. I’ve always preferred the more classic, and sometimes romantic approach to dressing. This is not to say though that I can’t appreciate what some of our favorite male looks have inspired – clean lines, classic materials, and worn in fabrics. Nothing is more appealing than someone who really feels comfortable in their own skin (in some cases, this can translate to a good pair of jeans) and recently I’ve been testing the waters with some of these more masculine looks.
Top of mind are a white pair of converse and a leather wrist watch … Who else is feeling me on making a little corner of your closet dedicated to boyish looks? It may make the men in our lives more happy if we stop “borrowing” their t-shirts (aka stealing them).

SO, not going to lie, I’ve been waiting, just dyinggg, to wear these pants for months. Snagged them on a sale earlier in the winter and finally felt it was appropriate (read, sunny and spring like enough) to wear these out. They actually are a lot more neon than I initially thought, but a saturated hue works just as well as a pastel. Instead of pairing with another light color (as I would with a pastel), I thought something more stately, like a navy would complement nicely. I finished the look with some light jewelry and a bold lip – because I never need an excuse for that. I’m crushing pretty hard on any and every shade of purple this season, so look for more of that on the blog.

Hope everyone’s having a great week!
