I would never claim to be a print lover, but there is a small section of my closet completely dedicated to animal prints. I’m not sure what it is that draws me to the leopard, but sometimes you just go with your gut no?

This little dress from Zara is proving to be super functional – wearing it now with bare legs and flats or sandals, but in a few months (dear Jesus, let it be not weeks) I can see this with black tights and booties. Anything that works with both black and brown accessories is a winner in my book. Also shout out to J.Crew for the amazing Kiki flat, I have somehow acquired two pairs in the last month and am super impressed with the heel support and great leather. There are a ton of styles on J.Crew now over on sale as well.

What prints are a staple in your closet? Let me know in the comment box below.

This may be my third article of leopard print from J.Crew … but who’s counting? When you find something that functions as a basic, but isn’t boring – you work it into your wardrobe! Maybe you’re more of a floral gal, or have a plethora of stripes, whatever it is, stick with what you’re naturally inclined to and make it part of your signature.

I think my body has yet to adjust to these warmer temperatures, but I’m trying to catch up with some wardrobe modifications. I might have mentioned before how into printed pants I am for this S/S, and these high waisted drawstring pants with racing strips really satisfied my need to be a little bit hippie and stay cool when I could be melting outside. Also really happy to own these new sandals, have really been craving some lace-ups in whatever form I can get.

Style Tip: If you’re new to the printed pant trend, start with something simple, or in a more traditional color, to ease your way into full fledged obsession.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

[Dolce Vita: I’ve been stalking this pair for two years]

Let’s just say I’ve had a complicated relationship with animal prints, one growing from absolute hate to absolute love. I’ve come to see what an amazing basic animal prints can be, especially paired with the rich hues from Fall/Winter collections, like burgundy, rich browns, and Pantone’s 2013 color of the year: emerald.

The irony is now I’m living in NJ and loving animal prints – does this make me a Jersey girl?

What are your thoughts on animal prints?
