I love a bit of reminiscing, especially when it comes to the beautiful places and experiences I’ve had. The northeast feels like home to me, but New England has an air of a unfamiliar but comfortable place. Equal parts sleepy and enchanting.
Have you all been on any vacations that give you distinct feelings of space?
Even though I do quite a bit of travel, summer always seems the most appropriate time for a photo recap. I went to SoCal for a week with one of my best girlfriends, and WOW was it a restorative trip. The beauty of the San Diego area is breathtaking and raw, and captivated me for the whole time I was there.
People are friendly, and real, and dare I say, happy? My semi-hardened part-time New Yorker self had some moments of personal clarity, that were well worth the price of the plane ticket (if not more). Also a tiny sparrow ate off my breakfast plate one morning; if that’s not communing with nature and disseminating good energy, I’m not sure what is.
Some highlights included a day trip to Coronado Island, the Encinitas Meditation Garden, and Mexican food available literally everywhere.
Vacation wardrobe staples included: lots of raffia and straw, denim cut offs, button-down shirts as coverups, and lemon and salt spritzed hair.

My dear readers, here we go with another edition of #SIStakesatrip — this time I was in Washington D.C visiting a few dear friends and seeing my ultimate musical crush Billy Joel. He was perfection, don’t even get me started ….
Between the fabulous meals, and time on the Georgetown Waterfront I came back to NYC feeling restored and ready to start another work week here. (Note: D.C eludes a bit of southern influence so the pace was a bit slower which I can’t complain about).
We visited Rockland Farms which is this little gem of a farm with fresh lunches, wine tastings and gorgeous yards to wander through. You can visit their website here if you’re in the Maryland area.
